Theda Jane is an indepdendent singer-songwriter from Brownsville, TX. She has released two albums, one entitled “Rotten Teeth” and the second one is self-titled “Theda Jane”.

Born Ileana Vanessa Blanco on September 9, 1992, Theda Jane was always enthusiastic about music and performing all of her life. She enrolled in Bellas Artes Academy of Dance, but left to pursue music at the age of 12. She played flute, piano and started playing bass as a teenager in lieu of dancing.

She began performing at a young age, even hosting her own shows at her house to perform for her parents and family. She then started performing at school. After high school, she decided to major in Music Education and Composition at the University of North Texas in Denton before transferring to the University of Rio Grande Valley. She dropped out of college in 2014 to pursue music full-time. Ten years later, she is still actively pursing music and will continue to do so.

Theda Jane’s music can best be described as a carousel of infectious baselines and hypnotic vocals. Taking influence from artists such as Fiona Apple, Pj Harvey, Les Claypool and more! Her lyrical content stems from heartbreak of all forms, leaving the audience to relate on a global scale. Whether it’s heartbreak from a loved one passing, or unrequited love. Theda Jane incorporates pop elements and classical elements to compose her songs leaving the listener with an amazing musical experience.
